With DEMF this weekend I know people are about to get all kinds of crazy so here are some tunes that I think will help you get with it. Some groovy, some bangers, and even some for that late night hotel chill session to wind down.
Some of my favorite emcees to ever hit the stage make a guest appearance in D*Funk's bootleg of Linguistics by Jurassic 5. The groove of this tune stays true to how J5 would have it, but with a bit of a twist. A UK hip hop bounce track always makes me feel good, and this does just that. D*Funk is definitely not a stranger to the more techy true breakbeats as well. He has quite a few releases on Upstart Music that are bangers for sure.
'Loaded' > D-Funk & Some DJ [Grits N Gravy] by D*Funk
Booty poppin' breaks delivered fresh out the oven from Sharaz! I'm a huge fan of booty bass of any genre and here's a big DJ Funk remix ready to shake asses. Check out his site for info and all things upcoming at http://www.dropthatbass.com/
Sharaz "Sugarfish" (Original Mix) by DJ Sharaz
A man who needs no intros in the breakbeat world, DJ Fixx along with Keith McKenzie just dropped three new remixes of DJ Icon, Paul Anthony & ZXX, and Southpaw! Dutchy, dirty, and groovin' breaks with the signature KMFX treatment is what it's all about, get ill.
Ground Control/DJ Icon - Wha? (KMFX Mix) by dj_fixx
Paul Anthony/CZR/ZXX - Rocking To The AM (KMFX Mix) by dj_fixx
Paul Anthony/ZXX/Southpaw - Batter Blaster (KMFX Mix) by dj_fixx
Wind down your night just right with an original from Louisville's house legend. Glenn Giles does it just right, whether GFG, Unkle Funk, or the numerous other moniker's he brings it proper. Deep, sexy, funky, whatever flavors of house music you dig, here you go! Make sure to check the mix mentioned in a previous post from the Wisemen Promotion's launch party for a longer groove accompanied by Firecat 451 on the mic for your aural pleasure.

Epic Progressive and Energetic
Being a long time supporter of Plasmapool Records I'm not surprised by the quality coming from them lately. Very polished production is one of their trademarks and bangin' tracks is another. Their latest doesn't fall short in either of these categories. With a more epic feel to the breakdowns and builds the recent releases under Mord Fustang and now Virtu are sure to put it down proper. Waiting for this one to drop to get some dancefloor reactions, which I'm 100% sure will be positive.
Virtu - Arsenal by Plasmapool
Fussy Boy - Gold (Mord Fustang Remix) by Mord Fustang
With a clean progressive breaks feel, Vize delivers it straight from the pacific northwest with his own flair and flavor. I really like the piano breakdown and the techy synths to tie it all together. Be on the lookout for a new release from Vize and Echoik in the coming month or so. I've been bangin' it out every set I've played for the past couple weeks with a great dancefloor response, soon to come on the blog!
Decay - Refuse (Vize Remix) by Vize
Well we've covered our first two topics of the day, now on to the energetic tune of the day. REL1 at it again with a hard hitting electro breaks re-rub of Fast Foot. Staying true to the hype, REL1 delivers wobbly vocal synths along with gut-wrenching kicks. The only justice for his tracks is to be played on a club system, so cop the free DL and see for yourself.
Fast Foot - Race My Music (REL1 RE-RUB) by REL1
To recap todays topics we will tie them all together in Microprophet's newest drum and bass mix with elements of each. Starting out a bit progressive and classic with the dnb Robin S remix, Microprophet takes you on a half hour journey through some ear friendly dnb to start out your day or end out your night. Beware though, it does get hype, so be prepared for the ill behavior!

Hype Tracks and Hipster Ish
Here's a brand new re-edit of Hypster's latest release 'The Uprising' from Arahal, low lying Spanish breaks producer who I stumbled across just this morning! Reminiscent of Wolfgang Gartner's 'Wolfgang's 5th' in many ways, and is about just as epic as it gets. Dig the original, dig the breaks remix too! Also a nice dubstep remix of Chase and Status' 'Time' just below. Really dig the groove on this one as well. For me it's just the right combination of drawn out pads and an aggressive wobbly lead.

Chase & Status ft Delilah - Time (Arahal Dubstep Mix) by ARAHAL
Indie dance music really had taken ahold of me a couple years back and one of my favorite indie artists is Alex Metric. Having pretty much ruled the world of indie dance for months as well as topping the hype machine charts Metric now has his own show on Radio 1. Here's a tune of his I can't help but dig every time I hear it. Just remember to keep your head straight.

Break Fiends and Electro Kings
Staying true to their roots, iBreaks is dropping a new release from Columbo that hits the spot with a great sound set to keep the groove right. The first track 'Everybody' has a synth-string intro into a bangin' drop with a great lead. Love the vocal samples and the driving beat. The second track Manga has a killer intro and a grgeat build to a super funky classic break and coming into some new school flavor with the choice of synth. Really funky b-boy samples tie it all together to complete the package.

Joman is at it this time with a super funky remix of Plaza De Funk flipped electro style. With the funky breaks elements, slap bass guitar, gritty electro synths and dubstep breakdown...what more can I say. It's hitting all over the map in just the right places. Got a great funky feel but retains the grit in the best manner.
Plaza De Funk - Superfunk (Joman Remix) by Joman
Talk about a song with a mash of styles, here it goes. You'll love the funky breaks transition into a four four bassline with a techy growling lead and just the right vocal flavor from Yo! Majesty. With a great oldschool feel in the beginning to the dubstep breakdown at the end of the track I'm sold. Programming is great and I love the change up in the lead towards the end of this preview. Totally get the floor goin'.

Let Me House You
Up today are three house mixes by a variety of DJs, some local, some formerly local, and one big name banger. First off we have Vinny Bricks, former Cincinnati house head and all around great guy. I've known Vinny for some years and really dig his style and love watching him mix. Check his newest mix '16th Ave. & Fulton' out available for download below!
Vincent Brick - 16th Ave. & Fulton by VinnyBricks
Next up is Louisville house fiend Unkle Funk with the live mix from the show I played with him over the weekend. Bangin' set all around, I didn't get to catch the whole thing live, now I get to listen as much as I want! MCing is Will Ellis aka Firecat 451, the supreme MC to rock your body to house, dubstep, drum and bass and anywhere in between. A true microphone magician both of these fine upstanding citizens will take you on a journey through sound.
G.F.G @ Wisemen Promotions Launch Party (feat. MC Firecat) by G.F.G
Finally a man that needs no introduction, a true long time player in the game DJ Dan. Here's a set of some truly funky house to get your body jacked. Don't fake the funk, don't fight the funk, just feel it. This is the one common aspect to all three of these mixes that you should take out of today's house lesson. Without further delay, DJ Dan ladies and gentlemen...

Step Your Fresh Up Fridays - A Lot Going On...
So as some of you may have noticed there haven't been some new posts in a bit. For those of you that don't know, I got married on Friday April 22nd and was on my honeymoon all last week! I got some new tunes and a couple pics for ya as well. Photos compliments of Loft 3 Photography!
So onto the madness!
Deenk is coming at it again amongst his steady flow of bangin' breaks tracks. This time teaming up with Mc Freeflow to pull you into the groove with some electro breaks. Danceable and funky staying tru to his style It's just a preview but make sure to be on the lookout on Hard & Hits (http://soundcloud.com/hard-hits) for this release and many others.
Deenk & Mc Freeflow - Crazy Game by DEENK
Techy samples, spaced out delays/verbs, and a rolling bassline makes Hedflux and Neurodriver's newest track a contender in the psy-breaks world. Although I don't get to spin psy-breaks out too much, they can add a distinct flavor to anyone's set as long as their dropped at the right time. Not only does the track start out slower for a killer mix the lead changing up at the end of the track keeps things interesting. A lot of psy-breaks just stay in the same groove and ride it out, but variation in syncopation is where it's at.
Hedflux & Neurodriver - Energy Vibration by BrokenRobot
DJ Hero comes at it with a dutchy remix of DJ Kue's Westcoast Swagger. With the typical heavy hitting deep bass and formant filters going wild it's a breakers dream come true. Stuttered vocals and horn stabs also really help with the overall b-boy vibe.
DJ Kue - Westcoast Swagger (DJ Hero Remix) by DJ Hero
There have been a few Dub Elements remixes and originals that I've dug lately and this just adds to the list. Coming from a label that delivers just what the name says, hardcore beats is carrying this one along with the rest of the proper lineup of talent. Heavy filter modulation and hard hitting kicks stare you down and show you the definition of hard.
